CHIEF OF STAFF, U.S. HUNGER

Introducing U.S. Hunger’s Monthly Donor Program: The Kitchen Table

Impact-Driven Content

Storytelling is key to connecting supporters to the mission and impact. This is foundational to any successful nonprofit engagement strategy.

In my current role, I strive to create unique content built around donor experiences, guided by transparency and heart. My goal is to educate and inspire to act.

To date, I’ve pitched, directed and led the launch of 3 original video series (Behind the Meals, CEO Series, and Thank the Donor) , live webcasts, recurring newsletters, email campaigns, and future podcast series.

My Current Role

I am Chief of Staff at U.S. Hunger, an incredible non-profit with a mission to end world hunger in our lifetime. From building our educational content strategies, to helping close corporate donations and government partnerships, I get to play a role in many areas of this growing force for good. Bringing food to bellies in need, at home and abroad, is the honor and privilege of my career to date.

Previously

Part of my drive toward making a positive impact has taken me to the public sector in the past. From 2015 to 2018, I served as Special Outreach Assistant for the U.S. Senate. I tackled constituent outreach while meeting local industry leaders and attending events by the likes of The Nature Conservancy, SpaceX, Orlando Health, and Lockheed Martin.

Local Involvement

  • 2020: Member, U.S. Senate Service Academy Nomination Board

  • 2019: Member, Orlando Family, Parks, and Recreation Advisory Board

  • 2016-Present: Team Lead, Walk to End Alzheimer’s

My call to serve

My road to U.S. Hunger began in April of 2017, when I read about the dire famine situation in many of Venezuela’s rural towns, as the country approached an economic meltdown. Engaged to an immigrant from Caracas, Venezuela, it worried me to my core knowing so many people from his home country were suffering.

I remembered having met the CEO of this phenomenal non-profit through my role as Outreach Special Assistant with the U.S. Senate. An email and one call was all it took to begin organizing what eventually turned out to be a 30,000-meal packaging project, with 300 volunteers, and local partners such as the Orlando Sentinel, the UCF Venezuelan Student Association, and Sun Risas org.
